My Background

I grew up in a culture of academic excellence, attending K–12 Catholic schools right here in the South Bay. That early foundation shaped not only my love for learning but also my deep respect for the formative role that teachers and mentors play in a student’s life. I pursued my undergraduate studies in Cognitive Science at UC San Diego, where I gained insight into how people learn—how attention, memory, and motivation work together to shape meaningful learning experiences. Since then, I’ve spent over three years tutoring students in middle and high school at a local tutoring center, and for the past year, I’ve expanded into private tutoring as well. Currently, I teach math and science at a K–8 school while continuing to support students one-on-one across the South Bay.

My Approach

Whether I’m working in a classroom or in a one-on-one setting, my goal is always the same: to help students build confidence, master challenging material, and develop the skills they need to be successful students and learners. I tailor my instruction to each student's needs—sometimes that means reteaching foundational concepts, and other times it means helping students think critically, organize their work, or break through mental roadblocks. My background in Cognitive Science helps me recognize the unique ways each student processes information, and I draw on that knowledge to guide students through material with clarity and intention. I don’t just want students to get the right answer—I want them to develop a deeper understanding of what they learn and a deeper sense of ownership over their learning process.

My Vision

Tutoring is more than just academic support—it’s an opportunity to invest in a student’s long-term success. I believe in a personalized, relationship-driven approach to education, where students feel supported and challenged in the right ways. Long-term, I envision building platforms and programs that combine evidence-based teaching methods with adaptive technology to meet students where they are and help them grow. Whether it’s through one-on-one sessions, group courses, or future educational tools, my vision is to make learning both effective and meaningful for every student I serve.
